2024 – Week 1 College Football Rankings

There were not many games to influence a change between week 0 and week 1. But alas, one game sunk a team for the rest of the season. As we move into the first full week of the season, here is a revised top 25:

1 – Georgia
2 – Alabama
3 – Mississippi
4 – Texas
5 – Tennessee
6 – LSU
7 – Oklahoma
8 – Texas A&M
9 – Missouri
10 – Kentucky
11 – South Carolina
12 – Florida
13 – Arkansas
14 – Auburn
15 – South Carolina
16 – Vanderbilt
17 – Ohio State
18 – Oregon
19 – Penn State
20 – Michigan
21 – Clemson
22 – Utah
23 – Oklahoma State
24 – Kansas
25 – Georgia Tech

The big notes for this week:

Georgia will stomp on Clemson. Look for a score around 45 to 17.

Notre Dame will not fare well against Texas A&M. Going into SEC country is a life altering experience for most teams. Notre Dame would be lucky to win 5 games if they played a full SEC slate of games. Texas A&M wins by 20, 27 to 7.

Coach Prime has a big challenge playing the FCS powerhouse in North Dakota State. Coach is a great hype man, but hype can only go so far. The game will be closer than people expect.

USC will have a tough game against LSU. The only hope is that USC plays like the University of South Carolina and convinces LSU that they are playing an SEC foe. Brian Kelly has a lot to prove. Toss up game, but give it to LSU.
