Conference realignment plays heavily in this new season. The new expanded playoff will open the door for schools to compete like never before. We could see the first ever all-SEC semi-finals in collegiate sports history. The world demands this satisfaction.
Florida State has a lot to prove as the marquee matchup in the opening week. A loss to Georgia Tech in Ireland will prove again to the world that the committee made the right decisions last year, even if Georgia winning by 60 points wasn’t enough. There are roughly 70 miles between Georgia and Georgia Tech. I imagine Georgia will have given some good tips to Tech to make Florida State nervous about a repeat outcome.
We have a long wait until Week 1 blesses us with incredible matchups. Some may say Georgia vs. Clemson is the best week 1 game. We put the marker on Notre Dame and Texas A&M, because it will prove the best point of the young season as reflected in the PFSB College Football Rankings. Enjoy week 0. The Irish will. The Fighting Irish though are certainly nervous about traveling into SEC country in Week 1.
